South Walton County is the southern part of Walton County in northwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico.
This area has miles of beautiful beaches surrounded by state parks, forests, and natural lakes.
Local communities in south Walton County from west to east include Seascape, Miramar, Sandestin, Dune Allen, Santa Rosa, Blue Mountain, Grayton Beach, Water Color, Seaside, Seagrove, Water Sound, Seacrest, Rosemary, and Inlet Beach. They are nestled along highways 30A on the Gulf of Mexico and highway 98 also. They are small communities with plenty of small shops, dining, relaxation, and beach atmosphere.
Clean, safe beaches, artists, restaurants, shops, natural lakes, state forests, and culture help describe the area.
Seaside and Sandestin are two of the more well known communities in south Walton County.
